Hi, Friend – I recently created this new job description and I think you’d be perfect for it. I’m sharing it here in case you’re interested.
POSITION TITLE: HUMAN AI PRO
Department: Human Intelligence and AI Oversight
Location: Whenever and wherever Humans and AI meet
Reports To: Your future self, and to the people your decisions affect.
Job Summary
Welcome to a great new role. I know you might not have been searching, but the world really needs you right now.
In a time when AI tools are generating more content than any human can keep up with, we need real people who can pause, think, and say, “That doesn’t make sense.” The role of a Human AI Pro isn’t about competing with machines. It’s about completing what they can’t: noticing nuance, questioning assumptions, and advocating for the humans AI tools are supposed to serve.
This isn’t a gimmick. It’s a call.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
-
Investigate AI-generated output for bias and inaccuracies
-
Distinguish polish and quantity from substance because you know that shiny persuasion doesn’t equal truth and accuracy
-
Use critical thinking to verify or challenge flawed logic and results
- Speak up when AI is misused or misrepresented
-
Teach others to use AI tools responsibly and with the appropriate amount of skepticism
-
Start and keep learning important AI skills like prompt accuracy, questioning, and advocacy for human-centrism
what you bring:
-
Curiosity and courage to speak up and say, “wait, is that right?”
-
Familiarity with common logical fallacies and the ability to spot them, live
-
Experience in being human (with all the messy business that this entails)
-
Willingness and patience to navigate ambiguity and resistance
-
Comfort using AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, not because you think they’re perfect but because you know what to ask, how to ask it, and what to ignore
Bonus Points if you:
-
Can influence others through trust, logic, and clarity
- Know to how make the complex, simple. This includes making ideas tangible and useful.
- Have a sense of humor, which will be necessary because as humans, we’re still figuring this out and yes, things can get absurd sometimes
So what do you think? Given the fact that you are here, I personally think you’d be awesome for this role. We need all of the Human AI Pros we can possibly recruit. In fact, I encourage you to recruit everyone you know to become a Human AI Pro, too.
On a more serious note, this job is real, even if the title or position isn’t. We do need more Human AI Pros who are able to think critically, lead with ethics and human-centrism, and pump the brakes in a world moving too fast to see and understand the differences between signal and noise.
If this sounds like a job you’d like, you’re hired. There’s no interview required and you can start immediately. Welcome aboard!
